All members should have received notification of a change to the schedule for the meeting on September 21st is now to take place on September 28th

The open lurecourse meet on April 27th was very well attended. A few surprises with favorites loosing out on their first runs. There will be photographs available at our meeting on June 8th (taken by Mike Camier)

The Spring K/O also did not run to form. This followed the annual prize giving. Being the third year of handicapping the k/o we seem to be getting a lot closer racing with some of the less fancied dogs putting up very good performances and in a couple of races progressing through to the following rounds. Being a fairly warm day the heat did not seem to affect any of the dogs usually. Results of the k/o can be seen below.

U/21                 winner    Ellen`s                Libby

U/24                winner    Farmer`s             Pride

Over 24          winner     Hill`s                  Max

Greyhound     winner    Andrew`s            Dolly

Whippet         winner    Todman`s           Robbie "0"

Deerhound     winner     Lucas`s              Murdo

Please note there is a change of date for Firle from 24th August to 31st August.

On Sunday 13th April meet we entertained a group of Staffy owners who asked if they could bring their dogs to race on our track to see how we run a race day. They are very keen to set up a similar thing to be able to run on their own. There was some opposition to them racing along with our regulars. This is not going to be repeated. But I would like to say that some did find it entertaining and hope that the staffy owners also enjoyed their day and were able to pick up some useful tips to help them set up their own events.

Having had our second meeting now it seems we have more interest than ever . It has meant that there is quite a long wait  between races. As the weather was pretty bad on March16th it did make it unpleasant. So I would like to thank all for their patience.

I think that the 16th was probably the wettest the track has ever been on a race day but still made for some close competitive racing. Hopfuly things will dry out by our next meeting on March 30th.

Should anyone have had any more thoughts about helping please speak to any committee member letting them know what you would be prepared to do to assist on a race day thank you.

The 2008 schedule has now been completed. Please go to the events page.

Having been unable to hold our annual open lurecourse meet last year owing to disease and restrictions on animal movements meaning the field we use being unavailable. It seems that baring no unforeseen problems we will be back to normal this year.

As in the last couple of years we will be running our annual show in conditions with the Game and Country Fair at Michellham Priory on Sat12th and Sunday 13thJuly. We will have the usual qualifiers for Chatsworth, The Midland, Lurcherworld and Bullcross. Please keep an eye open as to which days qualify for which show.
